Job Description: Designer


Designers support three primary store priorities at City Home Center - Customers First, In Stock, and Store Appearance. Designers support Customers First by providing fast, thorough, and friendly service to customers. Designers interact with customers by welcoming them to the store, assessing their project needs, providing special order options within showroom, setting them up for job site measures and make purchasing recommendations. Designers support in stock product availability by assessing inventory and restocking as necessary. Designers supports CHC’s appearance priority by ensuring special order displays and showrooms promote a shopping environment that is appealing and safe. By supporting these three priorities, Designers drive sales to support growing profit.

Job Qualifications

  • Computer proficiency (Word, Quickbooks POS, Excel, Outlook, general manufacturing websites)

  • Desire to learn

  • Ability to listen and translate customer wants into design choices

Job Requirements

  • Willingness to work approximately 36-38 hours each week Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30-1:00. Employees are in a rotation to receive at least one Saturday off per month.

  • Capable of thriving in a varied paced retail environment.

  • Ability to drive to customer residences on occasion

  • Creating, presenting, and selling product and design solutions.

  • Engaging customers to determine their needs according to taste, lifestyle and budget.
